Pique Assiette Gallery

- Tabletop
The tabletop on the right was the first piece of Pique Assiette I made some ten years ago.At the time, I could not believe the amount of broken china; mirrors; colored glass, etc. necessary. Luckily we lived in Florida with great weather, since I was always outside grouting with the garden hose (I learned the hard way! ) While I was working on the table, I watched the Antique Roadshow TV program and saw that the center dish was a valuable antique by Southern Potteries, Inc. "Blue Ridge" Design, after it was broken, of course! Also a very good friend of mine gave me a Chinese plate "Famille Rose" to add to the table, she told me it had been a wedding gift and maybe I shouldn't break it because it was also considered valuable. Well, too late and by the way the table came out. I'd do it again… I don't regret breaking the plates one bit!
This is my canaster set, everyone has one; decanters for Flour, Sugar, Coffee and Tea. Aren't they fun? Each one tells a story. Notice the gold grout color: white grout has been painted gold and it's definitely my favorite color grout! Although I've worked with all colors, my other favorites are: white, beige, black, silver and terracotta.
I hung it on the wall, Andy Warhol Style!

Mom's Toilet Seat
Mom's Toilet Seat, pink grout perfect for Florida!
This is Susie. She was once a dress form and is now a lamp. The best part is…I'm still her size!
The jewelery box on the right was done with absolutely no grout at all and as you can see I used a supergloss polyurethane finish.
